What's The 888 Project and what does the 888 mean?
The time has come for my new cd, The Not Exactly Belonging, to see the light of day. The state of the music business being what it is today, I'm continuing on the Indie Artist Path and wish to release the new record independently. But, with the help of donations from fans, family and friends I hope to be able to finish the record, release it, promote it and tour in support of it. Along the way, I hope to have a fulfilling, creative and fun experience that I'll be able to share with those wonderful people that have come aboard as part of my "record label".
I also didn't just want to call it The 8 Project. The 888 Project looks and sounds much better!

I thought you were already working on The Not Exactly Belonging? Like last year!
Yup. You're right. Michael and I started working on the first version of the record back in 2007. At the time, I was thinking of releasing an acoustic record, tentatively titled The Language: Acoustic, which was going to contain new songs and a few reworked songs that were already on Sophisticated Kink. Then, we were going to work on The Not Exactly Belonging. But, as we wrote more and more songs, I decided to incorporate the idea behind the acoustic record and marry it with TNEB.
More songs were written. A Christmas EP was written and shelved. A few setbacks were had by all involved. Which brings us to the present. We have a slate of truly great songs already written. The ideal sound and feeling for the record is finely engrained in our minds. It finally feels RIGHT. It's never an easy process people. :-)

How much money do you need to make a record?
In this day and age, you really can make a record at home, with very little money. If you don't believe me, just purchase my debut, Sophisticated Kink. Making that record was an incredible experience and honestly, there are times when I can't believe it actually exists.
One of the great things about the Sophisticated Kink release is how much we've learned from it. This time around, we're doing things differently. Which means more money is needed. Not only for studio time, which isn't cheap when you add engineers and mixing and mastering, but for the rest. The rest is promotion, publicity, and touring.
I'm hesitant to put a total monetary goal down because once you do that, if for whatever reasons you don't reach the goal, then some people might feel that the project has failed. And far from that. Any amount raised is an amazing feat and something that I will always be grateful for. Every little bit helps. Now, with all that said, the more money raised, the more money that will go into the production and the better the final product will be. $5,000, $10,000, $50,000 - we'll accept any and all of it!

How do I know you're not going to take this money and go on vacation?
That's a great question. Well, you won't really know but I promise that every single dime that is donated will be used for the completion of this record. I will be giving updates on the progress and the process.
I'm also a big believer in Karma and if I were to use this money for vacations or lipo, I shudder to think what would then happen to the record!! Finishing and releasing this cd is top priority. I think of these songs as babies that are waiting to be brought forth into this world. PUSH!

Is my donation tax deductible?
Alas, your donation is NOT tax deductible. You can check with your own tax people, but I think they'll tell you the same thing. Although, your donation is 100% appreciated and going towards a really great record! What is PayPal and do I have to have a PayPal account to donate to an Experience?
PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.
You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account in order to use PayPal. You will be able to pay with a credit card of your choice. PayPal will handle all transactions but I will never see your financial information. PayPal will give me your name, address and e-mail in order for us to be able to keep track of your Experience Level and be able to give you what you've asked for.
Your name, address and e-mail WILL NOT be sold or shown on The 888 Project site.

In order to enter the EXCLUSIVE SECTIONS of the site, you must make a donation and be a part of The 888 Project.
